How do I omit records based on the account name of a user?

      Post

Im making a database to help people log in their weekly work they have done and save it to a list of records for that week.  But my problem is i dont want the other users to be able to see each persons records.  Each record saves the username of the person who created the record but after that I do not know what to do to make it so they cannot see records created by other people.

Your post refers to the username--set in preferences an specific to a given user account on a given computer and also the accountName--set up in manage security and always the same for a given user. They are not necessarily the same.

See "Editing record access privileges" in FileMaker Help and check out this particular sub section: "Entering a formula for limiting access on a record-by-record basis" for a description of how to set this up.
