Fonts are stored in multiple locations - systemwide fonts, all user fonts, one user fonts, application specific fonts.
Font caches can become corrupt and need deletion.

After looking at the Font Locations and Their Purposes from Apple, I read something that indicated a new font will not appear until you restart the application. I closed Filemaker and reopened it and, Voila!, there was the font. Thanks David for the resource list.
