You can try something like:
Set Variable [ $path; "filewin:" & Get ( DesktopPath ) & Get ( FileName ) & "_" & Substitute ( Get ( CurrentDate ); "/"; "_" ) & ".fp7" ]
Save a Copy As [ $path ]
Change to filemac if you are on a mac. You may also have to tweak the path for it.
That has pulled together some of the bits I was having trouble with. I'll try that later and then update the Kudos.
Again you've been a great help Mr. Vodka.
I made a number od changes and it works like a dream.
That chunk "Substitute" is prettyr slick too.
I'd really like to do the same thing - save a copy with the current date - but it looks like I need a basic lesson in how to used such scripts - do you do it from within fmp?
I'm working on a Mac using FMP 10.
Perhaps you can point me in the direction of this kind of material - if its too much to ask here.
The example given is a script created within Filemaker. You'd select Manage Scripts... from the scripts menu and then click the new button to start creating the script.
