How can I assign different values to a field on Auto-Entry option?
Different values randomly or based upon what?
Thanks for responding.
I have a radio button. In which I want to do two tasks at Auto Entry option:
1. I want to show a default value in the Calculated value option, which I did already.
2. I want to write a calculation which don't allow the user to select multiple option using shift operator. I found a code, how to do that.
Now, I want both these operations to perform at Auto Entry option of the radio button. How I can do that?
I am using the above solution which avoid a user to 'Shift' select multiple options. But in this case, I need to give the calculation value in the field's Auto enter calculated value. And I also want to auto define a calculated value to that field with the use of Auto Enter, calculated value. So, It is not working when I am trying to put two calculated values in the same field's (Radio button) Auto enter option.
You may need to post a detailed example with actual data to show us what you are trying to do.
You can set a default value by entering it in the "Data" box on the auto-enter tab, but I am not sure if the second "calculated value" you want to specify is this default value or if you have yet one more value involved in producing the desired results.
"I want to show a default value in the Calculated value option"
Which is the calculation for that calculated value ?
For example, if it is 2*2, this may work:
IsEmpty ( Self ) ; 2*2 ;
GetValue ( Self ; ValueCount ( Self ) )
but, for static data, you could use the Phil's solution.
Thanks raybaudi, it worked.
Here, I was dealing with a patient record where each patient have an unique MR no and it has multiple SurgPathNo. When I click a button in a SurgPath portal, it takes me to another layout where I am filling the details of the SurgPathNo. In that case, I want if the user creates a new record, out of many surgPath associated with a MR no. the current one is automatically selected. I have a radio button for SurgPathNo.
So, I was dealing with 2 calculated values for SurgPathNo. field:
1. AutoSelect a current surgpathno. which I declared in a global variable.
2. Does not allow to select multiple values by using 'Shift' key.
I applied the solution gave by raybaudi and it worked. It is:Case(IsEmpty ( Self ) ; $$surg_path_no;GetValue ( Self ; ValueCount ( Self ) ))
