How to change the tab color that isn't selected?

Does anyone know how to change the color of a tab that isn't currently selected?  So, in this attached picture, it would be the black tab?

My answer assumes that you are using FileMaker 13.

Select a color for when the tab panel is active (your pastel yellow) and then set the panels to be black when not active.

               Enter layout mode.

Select a tab panel by clicking it once, then clicking it again to get a "box" around that tab label.

In the Inspector's appearance tab, select "Inactive" from the second drop down at the top of the tab. Then select the fill color that you want when the panel is not selected. Select "active" from this drop down and do the same, but select a contrasting color for when the panel is active.

Repeat for each tab panel in your tab control.

This is also possible in FileMaker 12, but the appearance tab is quite different so the steps are different.

And in earlier versions, you'd have to assign each panel an object name, use a trigger performed script and conditional formatting to get the same result.
