Title

how to determine if a value exists in a specific field of an unrelated table

Post

I'm new to FMP10 on my Mac and I need some help.  I'd like to create a calculated field for every record in a large table (Table A) that indicates whether the value of a specific field in Table A exists (or not) in an unrelated table (Table B).  I can't establish a relationship between the two tables because a unique key doesn't exist.  For example Table A contains invoice records and the "Company" field could have many duplicates of the same company name.  I have a separate smaller list of companies (Table B) and I want to find out (for every invoice record in Table A) whether the company is in list B.   It seems like this should be simple but I'm stumped.  Any help is appreciated.
