How to display, "Logged in as"
I have users that have their own username and password. I want to create a field that shows who the person that is logged in on a layout.
Logged in: Mike Moore
Get(UserName) return the current user Name. You can create an non-stored calculation field with "Logged in: " & Get(UserName) then insert the field onto your layout as a merge field.
I created a calculation field. Used the calculation Get ( UserName ) and went into Storage Option and checked Do Not Stored Calculation Results. Placed the field in my layout and nothing shows up. If I put my cursor in the field it shows the user of the database but that user is not the one that just logged in. I would like it to display the person that is logged in. Also wondering why the name does not appear unless I put my cursor in the field.
Try Get ( AccountName )
Use Get(AccountName) for the current user loged in. I click post and it error out, must have been trying to post at the same time as hbrendel. I'm not sure why the field is blank, I'm not having that issue with any test I've done.
That worked! Reason why nothing showed up is because I had it set up as calculation as number instead of text. Thank you guys for your help :)
