      how to edit a database

      Post

i have an excel file converted to filemaker.i want to edit some  missing fields of my excel file in the browse mode.i was asked not to edit the records  in the table view also not to save/send  as excel file.because the end users are not developers.

i tried edit in the browser mode but the records are not saved if i do the lookup of records entered.

i thought maybe i could use a   save button with scrips that goes directly to the database.

is there a way to edit in the browser/update to existant excel file?sorry i'm a filemaker beginner.

Without setting up an ODBC connection directly to your excel file--not something I'd recommend for a beginner--you'll have to Save/Send records as... | Excel to see your change in the excel file.
