Say you have this relationship:
Parent::PrimaryKey = Child::ForeignKey
then, from the layout for Parent, IsEmpty ( Child::ForeignKey ) will return "True" if there are no related records for the current record. Any field from child that is never empty of data can be used in this function.

Not quite sure what you mean there?
IsEmpty will return True if there is no data in the field. So if you specified some other field than ForeignKey--which has to have data or the record isn't linked to the parent record, and that field did not have any data in it, IsEmpty would return True even though there is a related record.
