Since any portal will be located on a layout, how does navigating to the layout where the portal has been placed differ from navigating to the portal?
Is it hidden inside a tab control or something?
It really doesn't differ, but my layout is relatively long, so it would be nice if there was a script that would navigate you directly to the specific portal.
Meaning that you would like to scroll the layout to reveal the portal object on the layout.
Try this method
Go to the layout with the portal and use the Name box in the Inspector to give an object name to the portal or to a field or button object near the portal. A button or field just below the portal will be ideal.
Then test this script.
Go to Layout [specify the layout with the portal]
Scroll Window [Home] --> scroll window to the top
Go to Object [Specify Object Name in Quotes Here ]
Scroll Window [Selection]
In my quickie test on a Layout in Adventures In FileMaking #2--the project that I'm currently working on, this script put the focus on the named object and then scrolled the window down until the object was visible in the window.
That seemed to do the trick. Thank you!
