There is a script step, Set Zoom Level that can set the zoom to a different zoom percentage. You can use File Options to set up the OnFirstWindowOpen trigger to perform a script that sets the zoom level.
(In one of my systems, the script uses the user name to look up and set the preferred zoom level for that user.)
Awesome. Thanks. I think I almost have it working your way except it pops up and asks me for a user name and pw.
I have to delete my name from the username which it auto-filled and input admin for it to open my file in 150%.
I am close..
Scripts can be set to "run with full access privileges". There's a check box for that option at the bottom of the script editor.
I have that checked already.
Any other thoughts.
Good one though.
I'd need to see more about your database system. Is this database a system of more than one file? Can you share the exact script that you have set up?
To post a script to the forum:
- You can upload a screen shot of your script by using the Upload an Image controls located just below Post a New Answer.
- You can print a script to a PDF, open the PDF and then select and copy the script as text from the opened PDF to your clipboard for pasting here. (with this approach, you can get multiple script steps on the same line, please edit the pasted text by inserting some returns to separate those steps.)
- If You have FileMaker Advanced, you can generate a database design report and copy the script as text from there.
- If you paste a text form of the script, you can use the Script Pretty box in the Known Bugs List database to paste a version that is single spaced and indented for a more professional and easier to read format.
Here is my screen shot of my script. Not much to it. Maybe that is why it does not work totally.
Oh, and to answer your other question, I only open one file, my Job Log dbase.
And when I click on my file name in the FileMaker Quick Start screen to open it, I get this pop up window that I never got before this script. I have to erase my name and put in admin for it to open. Then it opens in 150% screen width though.
Ok, I have added my name under Manage/Security/Accounts and now I still get the Log In screen above but I don't have to change the account name to admin. I have to just click OK.
But I still would like this file to just open up without this screen popping up.
This is not due to your Set Zoom Level script.
There's a setting in File Options that specifies what account name and password is automatically entered for you when the file opens. The default setting for a new file is to auto-enter "admin" with no password specified as all new files start with an admin account that has no password. If the credentials specified here do not match an existing account or this option is disabled, you'll get a password dialog every time--regardless of whether or not you have File Options performing a script OnFirstWindowOpen.
My guess is that you accidentally cleared that check box when setting up this script trigger.
So how do i "un-clear" it?
Got it fixed. Went into File/Options and checked the box and put admin.
Thanks so much for your continued support PhilModJunk !!
