If all your view only option users have the same privilege set name, you can set up a script that checks the user's privilege set name and hides or hides and locks the status tool bar automatically:
If [ Get ( AccountPrivilegeSetName ) = "View Only" // use the exact privilege set name you've specified for them in Manage | Security ]
Show Hide Toolbars [ Lock ; Hide ]
This hides and locks the tool bars for all layouts in the file.
It says "The Specified table cannot be found" for Show Hide Toolbars. I entered it into the calculation dialogue box. Is there another place to input script?
Sounds like you entered this entire script as a calculation instead of as a script with three indivdiual script steps. Scripts are created by selecting Manage | Scripts and then clicking the New button. The example I've posted consists of three script steps added to the script by clicking the script steps listed on the left hand side of the script editor. When you set up the If step, you entere the expression enclosed in [square brackets]. Show Hide ToolBars is a separate script step added by finding and double clicking that step in the list of script steps.
I entered it in as a real script this time, but it still doesn't seem to work. My script was
If [Get ( AccountPrivilegeSetName ) = "[Read-Only Access]"]
Show / Hide Toolbars [Lock; Hide]
Nevermind! I just forgot to make it into a startup script. ;) Thank you for your help!
