You can search ranges by using three dots between the lowest and highest values, i.e. 3868...3913
Also if the records were the last 46 to be imported they will be the last 46 records in the table if you show all records and it is unsorted.
I hope this helps
I tried entering 3868 into the the request field while in find mode, then selected "...range" from the Symbols drop-down list but I get the message "before typing, press Tab or click in a field, or choose the New Record menu command".
Also, I tried just entering "3868...3913" but when I try and enter the "..." i get the same message.
Are you sure that you are still in the field after you type in 3868 and then click on the symbols? Usually this message comes from when you are not in a field...
"Any way to search and constrain based upon record number?"
If you are trying to find record numbers 3868-3913 what FIELD are you trying to search? A record number is not a field. I would back up first and then try:
Show All Records
Go To Record/Request/Page [ by calculation ; 3868 ]
Omit Multiple [ no dialog ; specify 3913 - 3868 ] ... or just type 45 instead
Show Omitted Only
... now you have the set isolated to delete or handle in any way you wish.
I'm typing the record number into the "Request" field on the left-pane when in find mode. I do no not have a record counting field.
I was not trying to search a field on my database but instead the "request" dialog when in Find Mode.
I tried your method and it worked out GRRRRRREAT, thanks so much!!!
My understanding of the Omit function is much better now.
Hi Josh, yes, I understood ... but you can only FIND data in FIELDS and that's why I spoke up, ie, you had no field to search. I'm glad it worked out for you.
