How to set opening layout default

      Post

All of a sudden, one of our layouts keeps opening in the wrong script.  We want it to open in layout #1 but keeps opening in layout #16 and we have to change it.  It is frustrating that we cannot find a way to change this default.  We recently upgraded from Filemaker 5 to Filemaker 12!  Can anyone help?

Select File Options from the file menu.

You'll find a setting there where you can specify what layout should be displayed when the file is first opened.

It can also specify a script to be performed when the file is first opened and such a script can include a go to layout script step.

A an additional complication is that the layout specified with either of these two file options can have script triggers such as OnRecordLoad, OnlayoutEnter, etc such that going to that layout performs a script and such a script could result in an unexpected change in layouts if it includes a go to layout step.
