How to shutdown FileMaker Pro for backup
We have the standard, non server version and sometimes users forget to shutdown FMPro. Problem is the backups are no good when we try to recover because FMPro, even though it was backed with Windows Shadow Copy feature still complains that it was not shut down properly and has to reindex rebuild regurgitate, whatever it does that takes it FOUR AND A HALF hours to fix, before the database ever comes back up. Is there any kind of a script or command I can send to CLOSE all filemaker pro gracefully? Thanks so much for your help!
Thank you for your post.
Unfortunately, there is no way to close down the database files like you can with FileMaker Server. The best you can do with FileMaker Pro is ask everyone to close down the file(s) and then quit.
