How to sort day of the month, without the year (for sorting birthdays this month)
I want to be able to sort a found set of records by the day of the month, excluding the year. Typical sort function returns a result with 9/24/1953 BEFORE 9/6/1969. I want the order to be 9/6/1969, 9/24/1953, etc.
I tried isolating just the date using Middle, but it fails because some months have one character, others two, and likewise dates (9/DD/YYYY, 12/DD/YYYY; and MM/6/YYYY or MM/24/YYYY).
It occurred to me that if I could force FM to contain the data in a fixed number of characters (09/06/1969), Middle would work. But I don't know if that can be done; seems that option is only for display, not the actual characters in the date as data.
Is there way to perform this kind of sort, or to manipulate the date field data to make the date (middle) sortable?
