How to specify empty in Find/Replace 'Find what'

      Post

I am trying to use find/replace to replace and empty field with a value. But can not find out how to specify and empty field for the 'find what' value in Find/replace

I don't believe the Find and Replace will work on an empty field. To locate an empty field use Find Mode and put an equal sign = in the search field and do a Preform FInd. This will isolate all records with that empty field into a found set. You can then use the Replace Field Contents command to put the data into that field. This assumes that you want to put the same data into all of the records with the empty field. Replace Field Contests is an awesome command, however there is no Undo for it so always make a backup of your file before proceeding.
