How to use keyboard short cut "Ctrl+P"
Hi, In my database for printing, button are configured with scripts. But I want to use "Ctrl + P" short cut also for printing. How can I do so?
If you have FileMaker Advanced, you can set up a custom menu for your layout where the "Print" option in the menu performs the same script as your button. Then Ctrl-P will also perform your script instead of the original button option.
Ya I have. Great.......
But the problem i am facing is that, Layout Name is "Sale" and i created a duplicate of "Sale" as "Sale Print". I made all setting for printing in "Sale Print". I created a script for printing and used it with a button. This button is placed on Layout "Sale". If i click on button then everything is ok but if i press "Ctrl+P", it goes for printing but "Layout Sale", which i don't want. I want a print from "Sale Print" Layout. Is there any way to do so. And one thing more that Layout "Sale Print" is in back ground, no way to access from Layouy "Sale". How can i set "Ctrl+P" with script to print from Layout "Sale Print".
I can't follow the details of what you are describing. Did you set up the layout with a custom menu? Did you remove the Print menu option and replace it with one to run your own script? DId you select Ctrl-P as the keyboard short cut for it? (and each layout can have a different custom menu, or you can use a calculation in the custom menu that renames the menu option based on the name of the current lyaout...)
Here is screen shot of both lays
That does not tell me anything new. What I am asking is how did you set up your custom menus and that cannot be seen from screen shots of your layout.
Every thing is by default. I have not created any custom menu.
Then you haven't followed my advice from my very first post made to this thread. As far as I know, it's the only way to get Ctrl-P to perform a different task than the built in Print menu option.
