I'm not quite sure, but you can add a sheet to the work book thats the same as the original sheet, without the header. That may be easier to import.
You can also define a range in the Excel SpreadSheet and then import from the specified range.

I would prefer a solution where i don't need to edit the excel file.
I've put a script in place to get ride of the empty entries.
If you don't want to edit the Excel file, that would be the best approach that I can think of...
Or is it? Just brainstorming while I type... If there is any data in any one of the columns imported that is distinctly different for the rows of data that you want to exclude, it might be possible to set up a validation field option that automatically omits those records and then you don't have to script a delete of unwanted records...
