Import Records: Action on changed fields: Best practise

Post

Hello,

the situation is as follows:

I want to import records (from XLS) to update a table. If a specific field was changed during the import, say it's name is "type",  a current timestamp should be inserted to another field named "checked". If the "type" gets not updated during the import the field "checked" should not be changed.

So I want to track whether and when the field "type" was changed.

What is the best practise for that issue? I though about importing to another dummy table and synchronizing the dummy table with the original one by each dataset manually in a loop. Triggers like "OnRecordCommit" wouldn't help here, right?

Any hint is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Markus
