"Can't import a Numbers spreadsheet without saving as an excell and then importing as csv."
I'm not sure I understand the problem here; what is the format before you save as excel? Are you saying that you are trying to import from one FM table (or file) to another?
As for the 'second' layout, FM automatically creates a table layout when you create the file. You can delete it by going to View > Layout Mode and then Layouts > Delete Layout. Note that it is critical that every file have at least one layout so you cannot delete that first FM-created layout until you create a new one.
I created a spreadsheet using the apple program "Numbers", which is a spreadsheet program similar to Excell. Before I could import this file into FMPro, I had to first save the Numbers file as an Excell file, then save that as a CSV file and then FMPro would accept the import.
Seems strange to me that apple would not allow its own spreadsheet to work with the FMPro database format.
You should be able to import the Excel version of your file without having to take the extra step of exporting to csv.
That does take one step out of the equation.
