I find your question rather hard to believe. I would expect to have to break up a large import into hundred thousand record chunks.
The source of the data is what kind of file? Size of the file? Stored on what device?
The database is on what kind of storage? The size the database reached with 7 million records?
The source of the data is a comma delimited csv file, with a file size of 6.5G. I downloaded the file to my desktop computer, saved it to a local hard drive. I then opened FM pro on the same computer, imported the csv file, but the generated table in my FM file only has 7 million records (rows). However, The dataset is supposed to have 18 million rows of data... Any ideas? Thanks
This is a known limitation of Imports of this type. There's an upper limit on the size of the file. To get this data imported, you'll have to divide your file into smaller portions for import. From what this import indicates, you should be OK if you divide your file in half.
For More Information see: Import of a large CSV file halts after 4GB
This is one of many acknowledged bugs that can be found in the Known Bug List thread here in the Report an Issue section of the forum.
