It depends on what other fields in your table are set with auto-entered data options.
If this is the only field with an auto-enter option, you can enable auto-enter options on your table during import there's a check box for that.
It's likely that you do have an auto-enter option set on some other fields--such as a serial number field.
If that's the case, you'll need to import the data first and then use Replace Field Contents to put the current date in your date field in your found set of newly imported records.
Thank you for your reply, however, when I try that the field still doesn't modify to the date that I imported the file.. Also, when I check the Modification field for the date, then everytime I modify anything on that record, the date changes to a modified date..rtahter than the orignal date
Try the second option I suggested.
I tried what you suggested and I still have an issues... The only way I can gfett the date to be the imported dat is to define the filed as modifiable.. however, when I do that, if and when I ever modify anything on any other field.. the date then changes to the date that I modified the data... How can I create record so the date changes from the record i have imported to the date it was imported ?
I tried that still no resolve
Make the field a simple date field with no auto-enter options specified for it.
Then run your replace field contents on the found set immediately after each import.
