I think you'd be better off combining all the data onto one sheet in Excel, assuming it's all going into one table?
You could script the import process if this is something that you must do periodically. The script can handle the details of importing from each worksheet or file by importing from each in turn. This also allows you to set up the field mapping once and then not need to modify it unless the excel files from which it imports is modified to change the columns used.
Well right now I am copying and pasting date from a stats website to put in each player's record. I have the field names in the same columns of each worksheet. Is the script easy to perform or is it a difficult deal? After I go through about 400 players, I will do this again once a year.

Then what is the purpose of the multiple worksheets? Are you creating one for each player? That's not actually necessary, but might make it easier to work with during the cut and paste...
The basic script would just be a series of Import Records steps, but I'm concerned that the number and name of the worksheets in your Excel file will not be the same each year and there's the added need to make sure that the import correctly links your imported data to the correct player record.
