FM only supports plain text emails. For graphics or formatting, you will need a plugin. 360Works ScriptMaster is free and has an html email module. Other choices include their email plugin, and CNS SMTPit.
You can, however, export the image and attach it to the email...
Thanks bcooney I will check out that plugin.
Phil is there a way to automatically export and attach the image in a certain field?
You can use the export field contents script step to export the container field to a location such as your temporary items folder and then your send mail script step has an option to attach such a file. You can use a variable to control and keep track of the exported field's file path.
Set Variable [$Path ; Value: Get ( TemporaryPath ) & "Attachment.Jpg" ]
Export Field Contents [Table::ContainerFieldName ; $Path ]
What does "TemporaryPath" signify? When I enter it into the get function I get an error that the parameter is invalid.
How long is it going to take for the producers of filemaker to realise that email is the way of things. Most customers I dealt with want to be able to send information contained in their database as an email and they dont like attachments.
Allow container field to be used, get html to work and allow the page length of the email to be dynamic - just like real email clients.
If this were done FM would be everything!!!
