Write a script that runs "OnRecordLoad".
This script will set a variable, say, $$ActiveRecord to the ID of the record being loaded.
Have your conditional formatting check to see if the RecordID = $$ActiveRecord.
I was hoping that there was a way around having to use a script but this solution seems like it'll work pretty well.
There are other, more compllicated, ways of highlighting the active record, but I don't see why you wouldn't use a script.
You can make your script modular enough so you can use the single script on all your layouts.
Seems that there's some kind of bug...
When I click into a record in list view the conditional formatting only takes effect if I scroll the formatted object in that record out of the screen and then back into view...
Add a Refresh Window step after the Set Varible step that modifies the value of your global variable.
