    Insert image then copy

Insert image then copy & rename to the order id?

Im guessing i will need to use a script for this.

I want to be able to insert a memory key to my computer, click on the image container find my image and it is inserted and copied to a date only created folder and the order number id is inserted at the start of the file, so when i go back to the folder i know which image is for which record, also is it possible for after its copied the file it auto links it to the image box so my DB doesn't end up being huge.

      hope that males sense.

      The details are..

      Folder location d:\markets\**date**

      order id name  "OrderID"

If some of you clever people could help i would appreciate it.

You can use Insert File to insert the file into a container field with the store by reference option enabled. Then export the field contents to your designated location, then use Insert Picture to insert the picture file again from this new location with store by reference enabled. Variables can be used to create the needed file paths.

What you can't do with just FileMaker is create a new folder. That would require a file plug in from a third party developer or you'd use a system script such as AppleScript to create that folder.
