      Inserting Container Fields Into Email

      Post

I am in the process of setting up a member directory and would like to send an email to my members that shows their picture that we have in the database and their contact info. In the past we have created a script that creates a pdf that attaches to the email they review etc. I would like to simplify this for them even more though by putting all of the content directly in the email.

Is there a way that I can have the contents of a container field display directly in the email?

I am currently using Filemaker Pro Advanced 10

          Thank you for your post.

No, you cannot display the contents of a container field directly in an email.  When you create a calculation result for the contents of an email, the calculation must result in text.

If you have a script that creates a PDF, why not use the calculation to duplicate what you have in the PDF (sans pictures)?  If you need images, then attaching a PDF file is the correct method.
