Installing 7 Upgrade on non-16 bit compliant PC - (ver 3 won't install so the 7 installer doesn't see it)
Post
I am building a new PC. Finally upgraded from Windows XP. Filemaker Pro 7 seems to want to install just fine, but being it is an upgrade when it goes to look for a previous installation it cannot find it.
Of course I tried to install FMP 3, but being a 16 bit set of software the operating system will not let it upgrade.
The machine has Win8 64 bit on it.
I've searched like crazy and the answers seem to be to call customer service. I tried that to no avail as they recommended that I ask here.
Any work arounds for this?
Thank you!!
Sean
What exactly did "they" tell you when they suggested that you post here? That they no longer support FileMaker 7?
Are you using FileMaker 7 on a Windows 8 platform?
FileMaker 7 is very, very, old--latest version is FileMaker 12 and I do not know if it will even work on Windows 8 without encountering issues...
