iOS friendly "Save Records as Excel" method?

Post

I was using the "Save Records as Excel" function to export just the current record in my database to an excel sheet.

I want to enable iPad users to do the same. But that function doesn't work in iOS world (using FMP 12)

How can we do this? the "Export Records" function doesn't seem to have an option to do just a subset or just a current record. It seems to export everything all the time.
