Is it possible to integrate/connect Filemaker to a .dbf database?

Post

     Hi all,

I am currently evaluating Filemaker to see if it will work for our Company and would be most grateful for your input...

We use Industrial PLC microcontrollers to collect and log data from our manufacturing equipment to .dbf databases.  This .dbf format is not something we can change as the connection software is specialized and not configurable.

Filemaker seems to want to work with its own native .fmp12 format files.  Is it possible to connect or join a .fmb12 database to a .dbf database?

I realize you can import .dbf data but, the PLCs collect/log data all day long and I would like to be able to see/use this data in Filemaker in REAL TIME and not have to employ some kind of regularly scheduled import script/macro to get the data into filemaker.

Any ideas on how to accomplish this integration between 2 different dbase file formats?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/advice!

     Regards,

     Sid
