Here's how to remove a value from a return delimited list:

Middle ( L ; 2 ; Length ( L ) - 2 )

I'm not sure of the difference between the two. But what you said is right, I'm using it in a set field script.

Calculations are created in the specify calculation dialog. Scripts are created in the script editor in Manage | Scripts.
