Is there a structure/method to do something along the lines of an Excel lookup?
I have a table to track inventory. I would like to add somethng akin to a vlookup table in Excel whereby an inventory record can "lookup" a stat from a "master" table (a master table such that all data resides in one table for all dates and inventory as Excel would be displaying). I envision that the table would look like the following: it would have a date and time period (each shift of the day) in column 1. A Header across the top would be for each type of product (widget 1, widget 2, etc.). The body of the table will be the actual production for each widget for each shift of the day. When I am in the widget 1 record layout, I would like to be able to use a pulldown menu to select a day/shift and have a field that pulls the correct data from the aforementioned table. How can that be accomplished?
