jpg being deleted when save as pdf

      Post

           We are using FM12 Adv.

A jpg is inserted as a picture into a container field.

We Save as PDF then go to next layout, in the same table, through about 8 layouts. Some where the jpg becomes deleted from the container field. The field is just empty and no logo on most of the pdf. Where it becomes deleted is varying.

           Any ideas or fixes?

           jpg is 30kb

           thanks,

           Jim

The Save As PDF script step or menu option cannot delete any data from a container. Thus, if data is being deleted from a container, some other factor of your database design is also involved.

is "We Save as PDF then go to next layout, in the same table, through about 8 layouts."

A description of a script that you use to accomplish this? If so, you may need to post that script here if you'd like others to take a closer look at it for possible factors that might be involved in your issue.

Another option to consider is that such a script may be tripping one or more script trigger performed scripts, the go to layout script step can trip any number of triggers either in the layout being exited and/or the layout being entered. One of those scripts may be a factor in what you see happening here.

To post a script to the forum:

          1.           You can upload a screen shot of your script by using the Upload an Image controls located just below Post a New Answer.
          2.
          3.           You can print a script to a PDF, open the PDF and then select and copy the script as text from the opened PDF to your clipboard for pasting here. (with this approach, you can get multiple script steps on the same line, please edit the pasted text by inserting some returns to separate those steps.)
          4.
          5.           If You have FileMaker Advanced, you can generate a database design report and copy the script as text from there.
          6.
          7.           If you paste a text form of the script, you can use the Script Pretty box in the Known Bugs List database to paste a version that is single spaced and indented for a more professional and easier to read format.
