Welcome to the forum.
Every time you open the database program, it asks you which database you want to open (or to create a new one).
You can bypass that and go straight to the login if you tell the program up front which database you want to open.
For a desktop file (local), simply doubleclick the file and you're there.
For a network file, check out this thread:
Either way, you seem to be looking at how to launch a database rather than opening the database program as you are currently doing. (Sorta like opening an Excel file rather than the Excel program itself).
Hope this helps!
Are there any steps that would help walk me through this problem? Thanks!

One option is to cancel that dialog and look at your recent files under the File menu.
Totally semantics...but it isn't a problem, it's working correctly...just not what you want ;)
What platform are you on, PC or Mac? We'll try to walk you through it.
I'm using PC. Btw, I'm using network path to "fmnet:/....." to open this file.
If the above referenced thread isn't what you're looking for since you're on FMPServer, try this one...
