check out the Go To Related Record script step. Also, if I understand, and if Layout 1 represents the 'one' side of this relationship (and layout 2 represents the many tech repairs) then you can simply place layout 1's field (to mark repaired) directly on layout 2 and mark it repaired right there. Please ask questions if you need further explanation. :smileyhappy:
UPDATE: I am assuming there is a relationship between the two tables (possibly tracking number or equipment number)? If you can provide more information, the guaranteed answer to your question is YES ... just how best to achieve it.

This may make it much easier to understand my challenge....
A person has a tech problem and fills out the form below... (Notice the tab labeled "tech.")
Then the tech gets the following list of tech requests: (this is just another layout of the the needed info from the layout above.)
OK, the tech has fixed the problem. (the ones listed above are phony, test problems) So he wants to go from the second layout back to the first one to mark the case closed (which is under the tech tab)...
What I can't seem to do is to get the first layout to show the proper case so that it can be marked closed.
Hope the graphics make things a little easier to understand...
Graphics didn't translate and the forum does not allow image hosting images...
Sorry... thanks for your efforts nonetheless...
I found the problem I was having...
I had set a script to trigger on Layout Entry... so when the find related record command went to the layout I was always getting a new blank record.
Once I found and changed that script trigger, WHO LA... everything works as expected.
Thanks so much!
