You should be able to specify the height of your layout parts to match the height of your label. If you click a body or other layout part, you can see and change its height in the Height box on the Inspector's position tab.
Nope, I really wish filemaker had better controls for this actually...
I modify my layout part heights in this manner all the time.
While in layout mode, select your label printer in printer setup. Then adjust the size of your layout part or parts until the total height of all parts matches the total height of your label. You may need to reduce the height even more than this, it depends on how close to the bottom and top edges of the label your label printer can print. Look for any dashed lines indicating a page break. If you see one, you'll need to reduce the layout size even more.
You can switch to preview mode and see if the previewed layout is for more than one page as a quick check.
That is the problem, it is setting the page breaks at wierd places all over the layout. Where can I get rid of or change the page breaks?
The label I am trying to print is LV-30256
2 5/6 X 4 white shipping label
I choose it and for some reason it sets the page breaks about every 1 inch all down the layout... Any ideas?
What is the "page size" selected in printer setup for your printer?
Wow, I feel really stupid now. LMAO so easy to overlook though I must say.
And watch this in any print scripts you create. There have been some reports that FileMaker "forgets" a specified page size, so test and watch carefully.
Now see that worries me a bit because the solution we are deploying utilizes 3 different print sizes throughout the application.
LV-30336 Small Multi-Purpose - Label DYMO PRINTER (barcodes)
LV-30256 Shipping Label - DYMO PRINTER (barcodes)
Standard reports and prints - Standard Printer
I was thinking maybe about writing some sort of check script to check it first. (what are your thoughts?) The standard printer I am not very worried about it forgetting, basic print layouts, I doubt they will be a problem. What I am worried about is if that IS a known bug, our solution will be making drastic size changes for prints going from reports to labels.
