...so they don't waste so much display space?
for printing purpose ?
Hi Daniele - not necessarily printing - I have 100 records, and a field called "ID". The 100 records are divided into 10 sets of 10 records each, each set has the same ID. Some of the records in each set may contain a picture, the rest do not. I would like to have a report that displays all 10 records, but when I do this, the report for a single ID covers three pages, most of which are blank picture container fields. I would like some way to eliminate or resize the many blank picture fields that have no pictures.
This is a problem not only for printing, but for viewing from my computer as well.
I would like to have a report that displays all 10 records...
Do you see your report in Preview Mode ?
Yes, I see the report in preview mode. I do not want to print anything, however, I just want to view the data right now in browse mode.
When in layout mode, select your container field and, from menu Format >> Grafic..., choose Alignment: Left Top.
Now , from menu Format >> Set Sliding/Printing..., choose:
1) Sliding Left
2) Sliding Up
3) Also reduce the size of the enclosing part
Now, if you go in Preview Mode, you'll see your report w/o vasted space.
Hi Daniele - That worked very well for preview mode, thank you! Can you tell me - is there any way to do this in browse mode also?
If you have FMP 10, you can try to put the container into a SubSummary part.
BTW: I didn't try that neither I can anymore ( my trial is expired and I still do not know if I wish to upgrade )
Ok, I will try that with my FMP 10 trial. Thank you again for your help!
