      Legal String Function?

      Post

           Does FileMaker have a function that will make any text characters and what needs to be escaped legal?

           e.g. SomeFunction(//'>,<\,/ '] } ' the c'at'" 137 /" Chris'J);

               The BackSlash is the escape character to use inside a quoted string:

               "This is a string with \"quoted\" text."

               will evaluate as:

               This is a string with "quoted" text.

               Other ways to get the same text:

               "This is a string with " & Quote ( "quoted" ) & " text."

               "This is a string with ""quoted"" text."

               And if you need the backslash, escape it with another backslash.

               "Apple\\Orange\\Kiwi"

               Becomes:

               Apple\Orange\Kiwi
