limit to 1 record in find

      Post

      Hi,

How can I limit a found set from Perform Find [] to just the first record? I want to basically do a Perform Find [], and if it matches multiple records, only show the first one.

      Thanks!

          Nevermind, figured it out! :)

          Just for anyone else:

          Omit Record

          Show Omitted Only

Since you've just performed a find, I think you'd want:

            Show All records

            Omit Record

            Show Omitted Only

and under some shared database conditions that might pull up an extra record that was created by another user at the same time you are performing this script.

If each record also has a unique serial number, you could use it to perform a second find or to constrain the found set to isolate it.

Under some circumstances, you might just set your layout to form view, which leaves your found set unmodified but only the first record is visible until the user navigates to a different record.
