You can use a container field for this. Use the save a reference option and make sure all users have the same exact path to the excel file.
Thanks for your reply.
I think I'm doing something wrong.
1. I created a Container field.
2. I right click and "insert file" at this point I see the excel icon.
This is were things get stuck. I cant do anything with it. I try to double click to open it but it does not work.
What did i do wrong?
How you insert the file or picture makes a difference here.
If you insert a file--not a picture--and insert it by reference--an option that appears in the insert file dialog, double-clicking the container field will open it with the application your operating system is set for opening files of that type. If you insert a physical copy of the file, you have to click in the field and use Edit | Export Field Contents in order to view the file.
If you have inserted a Picture, you have to use the Export Field contents option in either case and select the "Automatically Open" option in the bottom of the dialog that asks you to name your new file.
Thanks for your help. It works perfectly now.
Thanks again for all your help but I have one more question. Is it possible to have the cursor change when it scrolls over the link?
Not as far as I know...
