Format the field as a checkbox field with the single value: "Yes" in its value list.
Let go back I want to display a list with only yes in the approve field.
Maybe a script????
Can you explain in more detail what you are trying to accomplish by just having "yes" appear in the field?
Is this layout used for data entry or strictly for reports?
Formatting the field in that fashion will conceal all values in the field except "yes" if that value has been entered. (That's why I suggested this trick.) I was guessing as to what you want. Let me know a bit more and I'll share more ideas with you.
I am making a purchasing order datebase. I want a user to approve or disapprove a p.o order. I want the other user to see only the approve p.o order. How would I go setup something like that?? :smileyhappy:
Now I understand. The simplest approach is to create a script that finds all records with "yes" in the approve field.
This could be as simple as this script:
Go To Layout [Your listview layout]
After adding the perform find script step, click the specify button and specify your find criteria.
Now, whenever you need to show only the approved records, perform this script.
Depending on how secure you need the data, you may want to look into Account and Privileges.
