      Login passwords

      Post

Does anyone know where login passwords for FM are saved on the Mac?

When we change the passwords under 'manage accounts & privileges' people can no longer login remotely without opening the file using the option key.

Somehow the old password is saved somewhere on each computer. I have tried throwing away the entire keychain, tossing the .plist but nothing seems to get rid of the old password. They are obviously being stored in a non-standard way

What a pain. Anyone know how to deal with this? Thanks.

That sounds like you've set a default account name and password in File Options.

Have you set up account names and user names to be the same?

A user name is set in preferences. When you open a password protected Filemaker file, Filemaker automatically enters this User name in the Account name box of the password log in and this can be confusing in some cases.
