Don't know if this applies only to Macs, but what do you have the color pallet set to in the Preferences… (under the Layout tab in Preferences from the FileMaker menu)?
I'm using Windows XP. I have the options set to System Subset (88 colors). It seems easier to use than the alternative System Pallette (256 colors), which is terribly arranged. I'm looking for a better organized pallette that is more finely graduated. The best I've see so far is in the Theme Library of Scriptology (www.scriptology.com), but that library costs $99.
Thank you for your post.
I also use 88 colors, but at the bottom of the fill box where the 88 colors are shown, there is an option "Other Color..." that when clicked, shows you the Basic colors, but also allows you to create some custom colors.
Yeah, I'm well aware of, and use, the Color Pallette via the Other Colors dialog. But I find that way of picking a color to be very difficult. I'd rather see a pallette of finely graduated squares, grouped by color groups.
