FMP 8 doesn't "see", FMP 9, 10, 11 see.
Make a smal FM file - name it "UtilityClient" because you need Open Remote file "Utility" for example - to open remote instead of typing all the time.
1. Define one field in this file - for example just text field without any meaning
2. Write a script to run when this small file start open:
OpenFile (OpenRemote - type what is necessary)
Select window (define "Utility") - this will bring to front Window from remote file "Utility"
Close Window (define "UtilityClient") - this will close small startup file.
Do the Macs IP addresses lie in the same 192.168.34.XXX domain?
The PC should see the Remote Host if this is true.
Is Filemaker on the PC set to Network Protocol = TCP/IP?
We are all on the same subnet in same domain. We only have one domain. We are also using FileMaker Pro 10 on all machines. Would there be anything on the PC control panel side that would stop filemaker from seeing shared databases?
Do you have Bonjour installed on the PC? That's what filemaker uses to pull up the list of hosted databases so if it isn't installed you won't get this list of open databases to open remotely.
