mail merge with microsoft word
I need to merge a large number of fields in microsoft word and don't see any clear instructions on how this might be done and if it might be done easily.

Although it has been several years since I used Microsoft Word, I recall exporting data from FileMaker Pro using the "Merge" option. This created a Microsoft Word Data Merge document that was used with the main document for mail merge. That is, in FileMaker Pro, pull down the File menu and select "Export Records..." For "Type", select "Merge".
Can anyone else confirm if this is the correct method?
In Word (2004), activate the data merge manager (tools) and identidy your (merge) document.
Then identify the data file and select any filemaker pro database - except I just found out that .fp7 files are not selectable - .fp5 files are....
Then you can insert the file-labels in your document as appropriate, and finally carry out the merge.
