excuse me for sounding dumb, but where should i put that script? i bet, i have to make a button (so i need to:
go to layout mode -> select field -> right-click -> button setup -> perform script -> specify -> select that script you've written after i save it?
Use Manage | Scripts to first create the script. Then place the button on your layout (You can even set up the Month field as your button) and select this script as the script to be performed when the button is clicked.
thanks, it works, partially.
it's all good with months having one birthdate. but as in september there are 3 persons with their birthdates, whenever i perform a script, only the first one is displayed. how can i solve that?
By what field are your sorting to get the records grouped by month? That's the field that you should be using in the find as this will be a common value for all the records from the same month.
now it's working.
i also need a button to perform "restore" script, meaning, that it would again show all records and bring back the original sort, which was before the button was hit.
EDIT: I already found it, thanks for your answers :)
