Migrating from Filemaker 3 to Filemaker 11
I posted this question yesterday but it seems to have disappeared. I'm sorry if you see this twice.
I have a friend who is using Filemaker 3 on an old Mac. She runs a small non-profit business. She would like to purchase a new computer and will need to update Filemaker at that time. I am her "tech support" (free--see non-profit) and am trying to figure out how difficult this will be. Is there any way to test out Filemaker 11? Ideally, I'd like to be able to see what the Filemaker 3 files look like (and try to estimate how much work I will have to get everything up and running) before she commits to purchasing the new computer and software. I don't see a trial option for Filemaker 11.
Has anyone successfully moved files from Filemaker 3 to Filemaker 11? If so, were there any problems?
Is the idea of moving files from Filemaker 3 to Filemaker 11 unreasonable? Should I advise her to start fresh?
Thank you very much!
