And clicking a button does not give it the focus.
Pass the object name as a script parameter and then you can use Get ( ScriptParameter ) to determine the object name.
I dont fully get it, do you have an example?
I have two buttons on an iPhone layout that I am playing with. Both perform the same script. One inserts a Bullet character at the current cursor position in a text field. the other inserts a hyphen character.
When I set up the button for inserting the bullet item, I specify this expression in the optional script parameter box:
When I set up the button for inserting a hyphen, is used this expression:
The script then uses this line to insert the character passed as the script parameter:
Insert calculated result [ Get ( ScriptParameter ) ]
Script Parameters are very useful and well worth investigating. They allow you to use the same script to accomplish different objectives. I remember when I first began to understand them. It was quite the milestone for me.
But when i define a button i can only select "perform script" how can i define another action at the same time?
What other action are you referring to? Perform script should be the only option you need for this
When you select the script to be performed there's a box at the bottom of the dialog where you specify the script parameter.
ahh! now i got it! :)
i complety oversaw this!
i saw it all the time but since i use fm i did not spent one second thinking about this.
i even read the whole fm manual during my last holidy and did not even read one sentence about it ;)
thanx alot, that was the right hint.
