# Multiple Calculation Field

### Title

Multiple Calculation Field

### Post

Here's my problem

I have a qty field, unit price field and extended total field.

My unit price field is a value list drop down of "msi, feet, sheets"

I want my entended total field to do this:

If the unit price is "msi" then take the unit price divided by 1000 times the qty.

If the unit price is "feet" then take the unit price times the qty.

And if the unit price is "sheets" then take the unit price times the qty.

I want this calculation in my entended total field, not in a script.

Any clues!

BTW: This forum is amazing! Thanks for all of the help!

• ###### 1. Re: Multiple Calculation Field

unit price * qty / Case ( unit type = "msi"; 1000; 1 )

• ###### 2. Re: Multiple Calculation Field

Is there a way to do the same exact thing, but when the choice is msi make the equation:

MSI = unit price / 1000 * (field::width) * 12 * qty

• ###### 3. Re: Multiple Calculation Field

Sure we can tweak the calc all day but you are now changing the parameters of what the calc was supposed to do as per your orig post.

What exactly should be happening for all 3 scenarios.

• ###### 4. Re: Multiple Calculation Field

Extended Total =

If the unit price is "msi" then take the unit price divided by 1000 * width * 12 * qty

If the unit price is "feet" then take the unit price times the qty.

And if the unit price is "sheets" then take the unit price times the qty.

• ###### 5. Re: Multiple Calculation Field
unit price * qty * Case ( unit type = "msi"; 12/1000 * width; 1 )

OR

unit price * qty * Case ( unit type = "msi"; .012 * width; 1 )

Edit: Added second choice which further simplifies
